TeleWRITER Corporation Adds Digital Recorded to Its Computing and Collaboration Software System

Communications Research, Inc.'s (OTCBB:CRHI) subsidiary TeleWRITER Corporation announced today the release of an upgrade to its collaborative conferencing software system. This latest version of TeleWRITER's PC-based software features a digital streaming recorder capable of capturing, archiving and editing all audio, video, graphics, annotations and computing collaboration in a 32-seat session.
Twenty three years ago, TeleWRITER-AGS was the first to pioneer a cost-effective system to write on a video screen. Over the years TeleWRITER has evolved into a complete graphics and computing collaboration conferencing system. Since its early days, TeleWRITER's technology has progressively undergone development to keep pace, and maximize its utility with the most current advances in PCs, communications, and peripherals.
The company raised the bar in establishing the industry standard with it's MultiMedia Authoring tool for automating classroom and meeting preparation, but with this release has now added a Digital Streaming Recorder to capture the class or meeting session in AVI or MPEG2 video standard. This new capability includes an editing tool for authoring courseware to a DVD, uploading to a streaming WEB server or to an archival library server.
Carl Ceragno, President of Communications Research, Inc. and TeleWRITER Corporation, stated: "Our periodic updates have consistently had one major objective, to make the best technology available with ease of use in mind for the widest range of-end users." He added, "This most recent release achieves that goal and is based on our commitment to stay in-touch with customer needs, thanks to our ongoing relationships with a widening range of teleconferencing and collaborative computing users."
Today's educational and business demands are calling for a higher level of real-time, interactive information availability for distribution and dissemination. The past twenty years have seen advances in technology and the role of personal computers that have redefined the way we work. Teleconferencing, in its many forms, has served its function to enable the sharing of knowledge and expertise among groups in multiple locations. As this technology has demonstrated and proved its power, the demands upon it have grown. Now, teleconferencing users want to be able to not only "interact," that is to talk and see each other; but they also want to be able to "collaborate," or to work together on a topic or vision with shared thoughts and shared software. TeleWRITER's latest releases have embraced this robust requirement, while making it easy enough for the average user to employ.
About TeleWRITER-AGS(TM)
TeleWRITER AGS(TM), a Windows-based software application, reflects multi-faceted capabilities that are not only an interactive, collaborative multimedia tool, but can capture, store, transmit, retrieve and annotate graphics, text or video images in real-time. This means that users are able to both interact and to share other PC software applications during their conferences -- which may be point to point or multipoint based. With this latest TeleWRITER version, conferees can easily switch from an interactive mode to application sharing/collaboration for the joint-running of most software applications. TeleWRITER technology has been a front-runner because it has allowed the user to communicate in real time over standard phone lines, LANs/WANs, and the Internet using multipoint conferencing.
TeleWRITER Corporation has also recently announced and released VideoWRITER, the first in a suite of TeleWRITER products. VideoWRITER is a standalone white boarding system that uses the TeleWRITER AGS(TM) engine for multimedia-capable meeting rooms and classrooms that require the graphic annotation and information automation capability only previously available in TeleWRITER's multi-user product.
Communications Research's acquisition of the TeleWRITER AGS (Advanced Graphics System) collaborative software system was followed by this industry leader's first full update release, which hit the market in early October 2004. TeleWRITER's Version 3.1 is making a significant impact on today's $4.2 billion collaborative computing market. With its current and planned releases, TeleWRITER expects to exceed the 60% share of the collaborative computing market, which it had during the mid-90s. -0- *T Communications Research, Inc.
