Israeli Missiles Kill Lebanese Soldier

Israeli officials say that an airstrike that killed a Lebanese soldier Monday was aimed at a car believed to be carrying a Hezbollah leader.
Two soldiers and an officer with Lebanon's army were in the car, which was near Tyre, the Jerusalem Post reported. The missiles were fired after Israel declared a 48-hour suspension of air attacks, although officials said that attacks supporting ground troops or designed to prevent strikes on Israel would continue.
The suspension of air attacks, which began at 2 a.m. Monday followed a bombing in Qana that killed more than 50 civilians, many of them children.
Israeli officials said that the target of Monday's missile attack, an unnamed Hezbollah official, was involved in planning attacks on Israel and posed a direct threat.
