A security source has told our correspondent in Gaza that an unidentified group kidnapped three Britons near the Rafah crossing south of Gaza. The source said that a woman was among the abducted, adding that the police launched an investigation into the incident.
Commenting on the abduction and the attack on the Central Elections Commission's [CEC] offices, the Ministry of Interior and National Security denounced unlawful acts, stressing that whoever takes part in such acts participates in a plot aiming at destroying the [Palestinian] National Authority in its capacity as an institution and entity for the establishment of which our people made great sacrifices.
In a press statement, the ministry affirmed that acts of aggression against public institutions and service centres and the exploitation of the history of struggle to harm the feelings and interests of citizens to achieve personal gains constitute a national crime.
