DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syrian security forces clashed with gunmen who were believed to be Islamists in the northern city of Aleppo on Sunday, residents said.
Officials had no immediate comment on the reports. One resident said the gunmen were killed in the clash.
Al Jazeera television reported that the gunmen blew up their car after clashing with security forces.
"After they were encircled, they blew up their car while they were inside," Al Jazeera correspondent Abdul Hamid Tewfic said. He said security forces estimated that there were three militants in the car in Aleppo.
