BEIRUT, Lebanon - Israel attacked Beirut's airport for a second time Thursday, with helicopter gunships unleashing missiles that set fuel tanks ablaze at Lebanon's only international air facility, Lebanese security officials said.
One helicopter gunship raked the fuel depots with machine gun fire, while three others fired missiles, the officials added.
TV news video showed flames shooting up from the airport.
Israel has intensified its attacks on Lebanon, striking bridges, roads, and the runways of the airport and two major army air bases as it imposed an air and sea blockade on Lebanon to put pressure on the government and force Hezbollah to free two Israeli soldiers the guerrillas captured Wednesday.
In its first attack early Thursday, warplanes punched holes in the airport's three runways.
