Three-colour (V, R, and I-bands) image of the gamma-ray burst GRB 060614 as observed with FORS on ESO's Very Large Telescope. The gamma-ray burst is seen in the upper middle of the image. The two images were taken at different times: left, on the night of 15 June 2006 (1.7 days after the burst), and right, during the nigth of 16 Jul 2006 (33 days after the GRB). The gamma-ray burst has clearly faded away very quickly between these two epochs. The host galaxy is very faint and hardly visible on these images. Posted on: 20 Dec, 2006
