This Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) was acquired over the Indian state of Gujarat, the second largest industrialized state (after Maharashtra). Gujarat is situated in western India, bordering Pakistan to the north. The capital of the state is Gandhinagar, though the largest city is Ahmedabad, both can be seen towards the center of the image. Agriculture and the production of oil are the state's largest resources.
